Sierra Forge & Fire is an educational center for fine artisan crafts, offering classes in three disciplines: Artistic Blacksmithing, Bladesmithing, and Glassblowing. Situated in an historic 1920's era brick building in the picturesque city of In addition to offering courses in Artistic Blacksmithing, Bladesmithing, and Glassblowing, Sierra Forge & Fire is actively seeking community partnerships to develop programs and educational opportunities for adolescents and at-risk youth. 2008 will be a year to continue developing the school programs, taking the curriculum that has been approved by the county school system and local community college to the surrounding communities. Much of this effort will be supported by community partnerships and grants. The staff has completed a class in seeking grant funds and will be applying for nonprofit status. The Forge has also been approached for several corporate art projects. As a result, we will be offering fewer artisan classes this cycle.
